Tips for Improving Your Search


Tip:

 Look for two or more words at once.
The more words you use the more restrictive the search. Example: kelp will return all pages with kelp in the text. Giant kelp will return only pages with giant and kelp in the text.

Tip:

 Look for adjacent words or a phrase.
To look for adjacent words or a phrase, use double quotation marks. Example: "giant kelp" will return Giant Kelp or giant kelp but not giant fronds of kelp.

Tip:

 Use wildcards
Use the wildcard operator (*) to look for words that begin with the same letters. Example: type jell* to find jelly, jellies, jellyfish, etc.

Tip:

 Use the + and - operators to refine searches
Using the - operator directly in front of a word will remove pages that contain that word from the result list. Using the + operator will require a word. Example: type +kelp -cam to find pages that have the word kelp and not the word cam.
